The Activists

The Activists

A unique film about the lives of anti-war activists. Experience the triumphs & hardships they experience by speaking truth to power.

My cousin, Professor Michael Heaney, along with director Melody Weinstein and editor Marco Roldán, have recently finished their documentary, The Activists: War, Peace, and Politics in the Streets. They’ve done an excellent job on this film after a successful Kickstarter campaign last December. Please do go and check it out at: http://vimeo.com/49732898

This documentary film is a study of the lives of activists in the anti-war movement. Through the lens of several well-known activists and dynamic organizations, this film investigates the different types of activism and the personal experiences that bring these people together to create a movement. The film was shot between June ‘08 and March ‘10, in Washington DC, New York, Colorado, Atlanta, and Minnesota. The film draws upon 120 hours of footage and interviews to paint a comprehensive and intimate picture of the world of activism.

It’s available free for a limited time on Vimeo, so head on over and share this link with your friends: http://vimeo.com/49732898

I lost my father yesterday. He had a history fraught with health problems, and it caught up to him. All too young. He was 65. I’m still stunned, shocked, numb… all of the above. Waves of grief crash between catatonic lulls...
